This light, spacious, inviting kitchen and family room was created from two formerly dark rooms, plus a side extension. Combining these spaces allowed the entrance hallway to be enlarged, and a cloakroom to be installed, completely transforming daily life for this family.
The kitchen is full of clever storage solutions, ensuring that everything has a place and is within easy reach. The work surface was more than doubled by the peninsula, dividing the cooking and eating areas. The pendants and wall lights are both decorative and functional, and what once was a dark and unweildy space becomes bright and airy.
Colour consultation featured greatly in this project; using several colours on the units added depth and defined the room without the need for walls.
The large, newly welcoming room leads directly onto the paved garden, utilising every square inch of space. The transformation provided the family with the additional room they needed to grow in to.
